Pakistani PM expresses grief over loss of lives in floods in China

Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has expressed deep grief over loss of precious lives in devastating floods in various parts of China, the PM office said on Friday.

In his letter to his Chinese Counterpart Wen Jiabao, the prime minister said "I was deeply saddened to learn of the devastation and loss of lives caused by devastating floods in various parts of the People's Republic of China."

He said that the government and people of Pakistan share the sorrow and grief of the Chinese brothers in equal measure.

"I would like to convey my heartfelt condolences on this tragedy. Kindly also convey our sympathies to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones. We are sure that our resilient Chinese brothers will meet this challenge with strength and fortitude," Gilani said.
