Britain, Russia expel diplomats in espionage spat

LONDON: Britain has diminished a Russian diplomat, as well as Russia diminished a Briton in a latest push in a long-running squabble over spying.

Foreign Secretary William Hague today pronounced which Britain had asked a Russian Embassy in London to withdraw a staff part of upon Dec 10 "in response to clear justification of activities by a Russian intelligence services against UK interests."

He pronounced Russia, in return, diminished a diplomat from a British Embassy in Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry as well as a Kremlin refused to comment when contacted by a Associated Press.

UK-Russia family soured after a 2006 poisoning genocide in London of former Russian representative Alexander Litvinenko. Russia has refused to extradite Britain's main suspect in a case, former KGB military officer Andrei Lugovoi.
