Gas heater suffocates Jordan wedding night couple
AMMAN: A newly-wed Jordanian couple died from suffocation upon Saturday after they left a gas heater turned upon overnight, a confidence central said.
"The newlyweds died from suffocation during emergence upon Saturday after they inhaled carbon dioxide emitted from a gas heater in their room," in a northern range of Zarqa, pronounced local civil defence arch Colonel Mohammed al-Malaba.
"The 24-year-old husband as well as his 16-year-old bride had just distinguished their marriage yesterday (Friday)," Malaba said, quoted by Jordan's state headlines group Petra.
Such tragedies are usual in Jordan where many families make use of low-cost oil as well as gas heaters. In 2009, 8 people were killed in 60 similar accidents.
